What To Bring To Practice

  • Non-baggy clothes – like you would go running in on a cold day
  • Running shoes – used for land workouts and for carrying the boat to the water
  • Warm shirt
  • Shorts or sweat pants
  • Light-weight rain jacket or merino wool long sleeve shirt
  • Thick socks – helps to protect your feet in the boats rowing shoes
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses – protect your eyes even in light cloud cover
  • Water Bottle – this is a must have.  Rowers work hard and need water.

What To Expect At Practice

  • Warm up exercises like pushups and sit-ups
  • Running, weightlifting and indoor rowing
  • On the water technical drills and workouts
  • Stretching
  • Safety and strategy discussions
  • You will get wet! – extra clothes are useful to have for after practice
